The SOVT-Trainer is based on the principle of Straw Phonation or making sound through a straw. The abbreviation “SOVT” stands for “Semi-Occluded Vocal Tract”, this means that when you make a sound through a tube, the vocal tract will be semi-occluded, causing a counter-pressure. Because of this, you will get better vocal cords closure.

By closing off the holes of the trainer with your fingers in different combinations, you can train no less than 15 levels of resistance to your vocal folds. This allows you to both restore, reset and upgrade your voice. That’s why the SOVT-Trainer is the most complete vocal trainer worldwide.

Breath support

Using the different narrow openings will force you to adjust your air flow. This allows you to train both your breath control, breath flow and breath support. The result is that your voice sound stable, resonant and powerful.

It’s worldwide the only tube with 15 levels. On top of that the holes are 2mm diameter. No tube can be produced so thinly in material other than plastic with the same resistance as those holes. That resistance is essential for a full and complete vocal training.
